When should I order my cover?

As early as possible!  Ideally, you should give me a deadline that is a month away from your publishing date to ensure that you have time to work out any publishing issues that could crop up without having to wait on the cover.   I like to have a month to work on a cover, so I should start two months before you want to publish.  It can take less time, but a cover is a collaboration between the author and myself, so sometimes I am waiting on information or feedback before I can continue working.  I am often booked up in advance, so if you are interested, contact me right away, even if it will be a few months before the book is ready.  I can also be contracted to design a full series, even if you aren’t publishing them all at once, so that you can be sure that you will have covers that match, even if I get busy.

How much will my illustration cost?

Pricing depends on a few factors such as the complexity of the cover and the deadline. Creating a cover for print is an additional fee and there is a discount for multiple books in a series. If you are curious what the cost would be for your project, please contact me. I’d love to discuss it with you!

How can I use the artwork?

Cover art and maps can be used for the book (naturally) as well as promotional materials, such as bookmarks or banner ads.  Anything that promotes your book without selling the artwork itself for a profit.  I keep all rights, but I never show the illustration before you do, and I would never sell artwork for someone else to use as a book cover.  Keeping your cover unique is very important to me!

I am looking for a cover for my Thriller/Erotic/Zombie/Manly novel, can you do something like that?

Have a look at my portfolio, if you don’t see something similar to what you are after, I probably won’t be able to help you.  I specialize in lighter artwork for books aimed at women and teen girls.  Check out my list of the best indie book cover designers out there, I’m sure you’ll find a designer perfect for your book!
